I'm taking a time out from this project.

I’m taking a time out from this project.

There’s another reason why most people don’t finish the Stylelife Challenge – it works. Over the past few weeks I’ve started seeing someone. As of right now, I’m at a point where, while it’s still new, I can’t really be putting full effort into these missions for the “Rules of the Game”.

What’s interesting is that I don’t feel like I really “gamed” her. She’s someone I know through my social circle rather that some random girl I approached at a bar. However, I think it was the fun I was having, and the confidence I gained, from this project that allowed me to go after what I wanted and act on things. But it wasn’t a chase. One “non-date” lead to another, that lead to a real date, that lead to more, which lead to more and more. It was, in a word, natural.

My plan is to have fun with this girl and see where it goes. I’m going to be very careful about getting into another LTR too quickly though. But we have something right now that’s really cool and fulfilling. Should things change, I plan to pick up right where I left off with this project. Thanks to my great readers and followers, especially those of you in NYC, LA, and Canada.

To be continued…

Here are my Top 10 tweets (from @devogame) during this weekend’s style change. I look back at these and chuckle.

#10 – “Skin assessment. At a shopping mall. Shoot me.” (Being told I have normal-to-oily skin at Macy’s.)

#9 – “Another weekend of getting more offers from gay dudes than straight women.” (After getting hit on relentlessly by a gay dude.)

#8 – “My Jessica Biel-lookalike romance was not to be.” (I met someone I liked but was shot down.)

#7 – “Yep, another bar. 75% male.” (Lamenting the Seattle bar scene.)

#6 – “MANY of my friends have had babies lately. I’ve learned from their mistake.” (Fatherhood seems so far away right now.)

#5 – “My credit card was crying. I had to console it and let it know that one day, in the distant future, its wounds will heal.” (Looking stylish ain’t cheap.)

#4 – “Shopping is like hunting. Except with less shooting. And I have yet to pull the trigger.” (Not finding anything while shopping.)

#3 – “My remaining clothes feel like the employees who now have to do all the work after a massive layoff.” (Looking at the pile of clothes from my wardrobe that were rejected for future wear.)

#2 – “I’m now dressed like a Jedi. I’m going in…” (Wearing a rob at a spa where I got my first facial.)

#1 – “Aaaaaauuuuummmmm…” (After my first ever facial.)
