November 9, 2009So Neil was right, again. If you give someone a reason, even an illogical one, they are more likely to comply. “Because” is a magic word. I need a movie recommendation because I’m hungry. I need a movie recommendation because bananas are yellow. It doesn’t matter!
Mission 3 Field Test – Phone Calls
November 8, 2009The field test for this mission is to call 3 people, at random, and ask them to recommend a movie. In the book, the author’s aim is for an exercise where we “only use our voice”. There is a long vocal training briefing in the book. The goal of all this is to learn to “take control of conversations in real life and direct them towards the outcome you want”. In other words, change the course of an interaction without making the other person uncomfortable.
Mission 3 Overview
November 6, 2009The final instructions in Mission 2 said “The next mission needs to be read the first thing in the morning before ANYTHING. Before showering, brushing teeth, or checking email.”
